Bureau Veritas Industry completed a FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) tower inspection for Mobil Altona Refinery.
The inspection utilised drone technology with the following advantages:
  • No exclusion zones required
  • No scaffolding required
  • Inspection completed in only 0.5 days
  • Identified client cost saving of AUD 140k

Bureau Veritas Industry - Drone Powered Industry SolutionsCase Study 2: Coal Loading Terminal Drone Survey.

Bureau Veritas Industry conducted a coating and structural survey for WICET (Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal).

From the survey a hot spot analysis, future degradation risks and corrosion management plan was developed. On-site work was concluded in 2.5 days with 2 personnel.

Traditional methodology would have taken 14 days and require 6 rope access personnel crew. The use of drone technology resulted in a time and cost saving of 94%
